The event was graced by several dignitaries, with H. E. Vinay Kumar, the Ambassador of India to Russia, as the chief guest!
The cultural event started with the national anthems of both the countries sung by the Indo-Russian kids, followed by a soulful Kathak dance performance from JNCC (Jawaharlal Nehru Cultural Centre) on Ganesh Aarti and a Tarana, then a poem written by Alexander Sergievich Pushkin was beautifully recited by Ms. Pragati Tipnis, the vice-president of Hindustani Samaj. Then the NRI girls gave a mesmerizing semi classical dance performance on the Russian folk song “Kalinka”. There was also an energetic Russian dance performance by the students of RUDN University. The cultural program ended with NRI members singing “Katyusha” creating a vibrant atmosphere!
